SGLS is organised into product categories. Each category contains one or more product standards — the specific criteria a product must meet to be certified. Select a standard below to view its scope and key requirements.

Building Materials & Interior Products

13 standards

Covers eco-labelling standards for construction and interior products, including paints, cement, panel boards, flooring, and doors. Criteria address material durability, and life-cycle environmental impact.  

Cleaning Products

12 standards

Covers eco-labelling standards for household and institutional cleaning agents, including detergents, surface cleaners, and dishwashing products. Criteria address biodegradability, reduced toxicity, and minimised resource use.

Electronics Products

3 standards

Covers eco-labelling standards for personal computers, imaging equipment such as printers and multifunction devices, and video projectors. Criteria address energy efficiency, restricted substances, and end-of-life recyclability.

Household & Consumer Products

9 standards

Covers eco-labelling standards for household appliances and consumer goods, including kitchen appliances, water heating equipment, hand driers, furniture and fittings, and food-contact packaging and tableware.

Lighting

2 standards

Covers eco-labelling standards for energy-efficient lighting products, including LED lights and compact fluorescent lamps. Criteria address energy efficiency, restricted substances, and product lifespan.

Office Supplies & Equipment

3 standards

Covers eco-labelling standards for office consumables and paper products, including ink and toner cartridges, correction fluids, and pulp and paper. Criteria address recycled content, reduced toxicity, and recyclability.

Personal Care Products

6 standards

Covers eco-labelling standards for personal hygiene and grooming products, including cosmetics, Criteria address restricted chemicals, biodegradability, and packaging.

Solar Equipment

2 standards

Covers eco-labelling standards for solar energy products, including photovoltaic (PV) modules and solar-powered consumer products. Criteria address energy conversion efficiency, material restrictions, and product durability.

Sustainable & Specialised Products

13 standards

A broad category covering eco-labelling standards for products that span multiple types, including biodegradable and compostable items, recycled-content products, and tyres. Criteria vary by product and address each item's primary environmental impact.
