Termiticides
Scope of certification
This standard covers termiticides including conventional soil-applied products, wood-treatment products such as borates, and construction materials impregnated with insecticides to protect structures against subterranean termites.
Key requirements
- No carcinogens, mutagens or reproductive toxins (no substances in IARC Group 1, 2A or 2B)
- Active ingredient content and purity must adhere to FAO/WHO specification guidelines
- Acute and ecotoxicity studies required (fish, daphnia, algae, earthworms, soil microorganisms per OECD guidelines)
- Risk to aquatic organisms must be assessed and minimised through recommended application procedures
