New Application of Green Label

Before you begin: Contact the Secretariat at greenlabel@sec.org.sg to confirm your product is eligible for SGLS certification. This saves time before you prepare documents.
The online application portal is currently unavailable. Submit all applications and supporting documents by email to greenlabel@sec.org.sg. The Secretariat will confirm receipt and guide you through next steps.

Step-by-step application guide

Step 1 — Check eligibility

Email the Secretariat with a brief description of your product. They will confirm whether your product falls within an existing SGLS product category and confirm eligibility and provide you with the relevant requirements for your product category. Browse the Product Categories page to get an initial sense of scope.

Step 2 — Review the criteria

The Secretariat will provide the requirements document for your product category. Review it carefully before arranging any testing — this ensures your test reports will cover everything required for assessment.

Step 3 — Prepare your supporting documents

Gather all required documents before submitting. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

  • A detailed description of your product, its composition, and its manufacturing process
  • Test reports from nationally accredited third-party test laboratories, in accordance with the relevant product criteria
  • A declaration letter signed by the CEO, President, Managing Director or equivalent of the applicant company
  • Manufacturing process documents, dated and signed by the technical person-in-charge (Technical Director or Manager)
  • Product photographs
  • Any additional documentation specified in the relevant product criteria
Testing requirements: All test reports must be from nationally accredited third-party test laboratories. In Singapore, this means SINGLAS-accredited laboratories. Overseas reports are accepted if testing was conducted by a nationally accredited third-party laboratory in the relevant country. The Secretariat does not bear any cost of testing.

Step 4 — Submit your application

Email your complete application and all supporting documents to greenlabel@sec.org.sg. An invoice will be issued upon commencement of assessment. Do not make any payment before receiving the invoice.

Step 5 — Assessment

The Secretariat reviews your application and notifies you of the outcome within 3 to 4 weeks of receiving a complete document set. If your application needs additional information, the Secretariat will contact you directly.

Step 6 — Certification

On approval and receipt of payment, your Singapore Green Label certificate will be issued — allow up to 3 working days. The certificate is valid for two years. You may then use the Singapore Green Label logo in accordance with the Logo Usage Guidelines.
