Guidelines

Once your product is certified, you may display the Singapore Green Label on the product, its packaging and related marketing materials — in the way set out on this page. The Green Label is a registered trademark of the Singapore Environment Council (SEC), and correct use of the logo is a condition of your certification.

Registered trademark

May only be used by current, certified licensees, with SEC’s written consent, and only as shown here.

ID number required

The logo must always appear together with your assigned certification identification number.

Removed on expiry

If your certificate lapses, the logo must come off all products, packaging and marketing materials.

Who may use the Green Label

Only companies holding a current, valid SGLS certificate may display the Green Label — and only on the specific product(s) named in that certificate. The logo may not be used on other products in your range, on general company materials, or by distributors and retailers who are not the certificate holder, without separate written permission from the SGLS Secretariat.

Approved logo versions

The Green Label logo is the sole visual identifier of the scheme. Use the full-colour version wherever possible. Three alternatives are provided for situations where full colour is not available:

Green Label logo, full colour version
Full colour — the primary version, for all standard use
Green Label logo, greyscale version
Greyscale — for black-and-white print, e.g. newspaper advertising
Green Label logo, black and white line version
Black & white — for single-colour printing
Green Label logo, inverted white version on a dark green background
Inverted white — required on coloured backgrounds of 30% tint or darker

Size and clear space

Minimum size: 12 mm wide. Below this, the leaf symbol and wordmark are no longer reliably legible.

Always keep a clear area around the logo, free of other text, graphics and images. The required clear space is measured from the width of the letter “G” in the logo. If you are preparing print artwork and need the exact grid, request the full brand guidelines from the Secretariat (see below).

Logo colours

The Green Label uses two colours. Do not substitute, tint or recolour the logo outside the four approved versions above.

Positioning

Place the Green Label logo at the bottom-right or top-right of your packaging, collateral or signage, where it remains clearly visible. No other design element — including your own certification ID number — may overlap or obscure the logo.

Certification ID number and descriptive text

Every use of the Green Label logo must be accompanied by your assigned certification identification number and a short descriptive text line, positioned below or to the right of the logo:

001 – 000 – 8888
Environmentally Preferred Product

Minimum combined artwork size: 80 × 44 mm (horizontal layout) or 40 × 34 mm (stacked layout).

Do

  • Use the supplied artwork files exactly as provided
  • Show the logo with your certification ID number and descriptive text
  • Keep the logo clear of surrounding text and graphics
  • Use the inverted white version on dark or coloured backgrounds

Don’t

  • Stretch, distort or change the proportions of the logo
  • Recolour the logo or use unapproved colour versions
  • Place the logo on busy, cluttered or low-contrast backgrounds
  • Resize or reposition elements within the logo
  • Apply 3D effects, shadows, outlines or other special effects
  • Redraw, recreate or otherwise modify the logo artwork
  • Use the logo on uncertified products, or after your certificate has expired

If your certificate expires or is not renewed

If a renewal application has not been lodged at least 30 days before your certificate’s expiry date, the Green Label logo must be removed from all products, packaging and marketing materials upon expiry. If removal from existing stock is not practical, contact your liaison officer or the Secretariat to declare remaining inventory and a projected consumption timeline. See Certificate Renewal for full details.
