Scope of certification
This standard establishes criteria for photovoltaic products for indoor and outdoor use, powered by solar or light energy using a rechargeable electrochemical storage system.
Key requirements
- Environmental management system in place (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 or equivalent)
- No carcinogens, mutagens or reproductive toxins; no cadmium in batteries above defined limits
- No fully fluorinated compounds in PV module production; no halogenated organic substances in plastics or flame retardants
- No PBBs, PBDEs or chlorinated paraffins in circuit board carrier materials
