Scope of certification
This standard establishes environmental, performance and health criteria for thermal and acoustic insulating products used in building construction, including mineral wool, foam-based and natural fibre insulation materials.
Key requirements
- Environmental management system in place (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 or equivalent)
- No carcinogens, mutagens or reproductive toxins; no hexavalent chromium
- No halogenated flame retardants (PBDEs, PBBs or short-chain chlorinated paraffins)
- No ozone-depleting substances or phthalates as plasticisers in plastic components
