Scope of certification
This standard establishes criteria for all cosmetic products including skin care, hair care, decorative cosmetics, perfumes and hygiene products.
Key requirements
- Environmental management system in place (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 or equivalent)
- No carcinogens, mutagens or reproductive toxins; no NTA, BHT, EDTA or sodium lauryl sulphate in toothpaste
- Colorants approved under EU Cosmetic Directive 76/768/EEC Annex IV
- Fragrances must comply with IFRA guidelines — no CMR-classified compounds; concentration limits apply for rinse-off and leave-on products
