Scope of certification
This standard establishes environmental and performance criteria for bricks used in construction, covering clay, concrete and calcium silicate bricks. It addresses raw material use, manufacturing emissions, recycled content, and durability.
Key requirements
- Environmental management system in place (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 or equivalent)
- No carcinogens, mutagens or reproductive toxins used in manufacture
- No heavy metals added as additives or pigments above defined limits
- Minimum proportion of recycled or secondary raw materials required
