Fire Extinguishers
Scope of certification
This standard establishes criteria for portable fire extinguishers, covering powder (ABC) devices and aerosol-type extinguishing devices for Types A, B and C flames. Extinguishers for Type D flames and those used on ships or aircraft are excluded.
Key requirements
- Environmental management system in place (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 or equivalent)
- No carcinogens, mutagens or reproductive toxins; no heavy metals above defined limits
- No halon-based extinguishing agents; no ozone-depleting substances
- Product must meet performance standards for Types A, B and C fire classes
Ready to apply for the Green Label?
Most applications are completed within 3–4 weeks after all supporting documents are submitted. New certification is valid for 2 years.
