Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL)
Scope of certification
This standard establishes requirements for integral compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) where tube and ballast form a single unit, enabling direct replacement of incandescent lamps. The standard covers screw-based lamps with ballast and adaptor in a single assembly.
Key requirements
- Environmental management system in place (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 or equivalent)
- RoHS compliance — mercury within defined limits; no lead, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBBs or PBDEs
- Colour rendering index (Ra) and minimum luminous efficacy (lm/W) requirements met
- Minimum rated lifespan requirements met; chromaticity within defined ranges
