Scope of certification
This standard establishes criteria for copying machines, printers, fax machines and multifunctional devices (MFDs), covering standard-sized monochromatic and colour office machines using electrophotographic and inkjet technologies, as well as large format machines.
Key requirements
- Environmental management system in place (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 or equivalent)
- RoHS compliance — no mercury, lead, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBBs or PBDEs
- No short-chain chlorinated paraffins; synthetic resin housing must not contain halogen compounds above defined limits
- Energy efficiency requirements met in all operating modes
