Cleaning Products (General)

This standard establishes the environmental and health criteria for cleaning products designed for household, commercial and industrial use. The scope covers the following categories of cleaning products:

1.  Detergents: Includes household and commercial laundry detergents in liquid, powder, solid, or gel form, designed for use in machine or handwashing of fabrics. Also includes dishwashing detergents in liquid or powder form for machine or handwashing of dishes.
2.  Floor Cleaners: Includes all liquid and solid cleaners specifically formulated for cleaning household flooring surfaces.
3.  Industrial and Institutional Cleaners: Includes general-purpose, bathroom, and glass cleaners designed for use in offices, institutions, warehouses, and industrial facilities. This category excludes cleaners intended for household use, food preparation operations, or medical facilities. Product compatibility with surface materials is not specifically addressed, and users should follow manufacturers' instructions.
4. Surface Cleaners: Includes liquid and solid surface cleaners intended for cleaning and maintaining surfaces in various household and commercial settings.
5. Other Cleaning Products: Includes specialized cleaning products designed for specific applications, such as fruit and vegetable washes, appliance cleaners, and other niche cleaning solutions.
