Scope of certification
This standard establishes environmental, health and performance criteria for hand sanitisers for household and commercial use.
Key requirements
- Environmental management system in place (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 or equivalent)
- No carcinogens, mutagens or reproductive toxins; no parabens, EDTA or halogenated organic solvents
- No triclosan unless efficacy-justified and within defined limits
- Minimum biocidal efficacy demonstrated against target organisms
