Scope of certification
This standard establishes criteria for soil improvers, growing media, aggregates and mulch for household and industrial agriculture and horticulture. Materials covered include biochar, compost, bone meal, peat, growing media minerals, construction aggregates, and bark chip or rubber mulch.
Key requirements
- Environmental management system in place (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 or equivalent)
- No carcinogens, mutagens or reproductive toxins; no heavy metals above defined limits in final product
- No pathogens above defined threshold levels for compost and organic inputs
- Product must promote plant emergence and growth — relevant performance standards met
