Scope of certification
This standard establishes criteria for single-use food packaging including containers, bowls, plates, cups, utensils, plastic bags, and wrapping and film products made of plastics, paper, or wood.
Key requirements
- No substances of very high concern (SVHC) in materials in direct food contact
- Minimum recycled or sustainably sourced content required
- Biodegradability or recyclability at end of life required
- Product must meet relevant food safety standards and performance requirements for intended use
